Itinerary
Saturday 12 March
13:30 – Ceremony, York Register Office
Join us as we make the ultimate commitment to each other. Please arrive no more than 10–15 minutes prior to the ceremony due to COVID-19 restrictions (but don’t be late!). If arriving early, please be aware that the waiting area is outside, so weather-appropriate clothing is recommended.
14:30 – Cake reception, Eagle and Child
Time to mingle with cake, prosecco and a selection of bar snacks. You will be able to leave and return to the pub freely if you would like to use this time to sort hotel arrangements or explore the historic city of York.
18:30 – Dinner, The Ivy
Celebrate our nuptials with a complimentary three-course meal and drinks ‘til late. Please provide your menu choices at least two weeks in advance; the menu will be made available in due course.
Location
This is a 15 minute walk from the train station, and approximately a 10 minute walk from the city centre. No parking is available at the venue, but reasonably priced car parks are available at various locations in the city. The bride and groom are able to advise of any further details, including car park locations and phone numbers for taxi companies.
The ceremony will be followed by a cake reception at
a charming pub overlooking the famous York Minster, located a short (4 minute) walk from the registry office. This will in turn be followed by another 4 minute walk to a meal at
The bride and groom will guide guests between venues.
Dress Code
The dress code for the event is not strict, and we want you to be comfortable! However, as a guideline we recommend as a minimum either a collared shirt and smart trousers/skirt or a nice dress. Note that the Ivy describes its dress code as smart casual and trainers may be best avoided.
The bride and groom will be wearing a wedding dress and a three-piece suit, respectively, and we recommend dressing up and making an occasion of it for those who feel comfortable doing so.
Gifts
We don’t need your presents. We only need your presence.
